Eminem is Not Modest, But I Don't Care

What kind of arrogantself-centeredegotistical asshole calls himself a "Rap God" and proclaims in the first line, "I'm beginning to feel like a rap god, rap god"?
      Eminem.
He drops six minutes of exhausting, fast paced, rant-y, insult-laden, flow in "Rap God," his third single off of the upcoming Marshall Mathers LP 2.
      And it's great.
I've listened to it at least six times in the last fifteen hours which accounts for almost a half an hour of my life. I would do it all over again if I could. I was five when the first Marshall Mathers LP was released in 2000. His daughter Hailie is older than me. But in fourth grade, two of my friends and I rewrote a rap to "Without Me." Two years ago I went to an Eminem concert.
Sure, he's angry, probably an asshole, and a little unstable. But he's a genius. At forty, he's still busting out hits reminiscent of, but different than, his early stuff, and he looks as if he hasn't aged since 8 Mile.
The guy has every right to be cocky. He deserves it. He has every right to not be modest. I don't care. He has every right to call himself a rap god. He is. So let's stop analyzing his every move, enjoy his ever-present talent, and hope it never goes away. Pencil this in to your afternoon schedule. Enjoy.
