Go Away, Malcolm Gladwell, You Anger and Confuse Me

      Malcolm Gladwell is everywhere.
One day I was talking to a teacher about his new book. The next, my psychology textbook kept relating back the chapter on thinking and intelligence to his book Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking. A day later, my aunt sent me a picture of her and Gladwell. The next day, I read a review about his new book David and Goliath.
A couple of months ago, I began reading another book of his: What the Dog Saw, which is a compilation of essays. I was unimpressed and stopped after the first essay. I am interested in journalism so it was a sad realization that Gladwell's words didn't bring me to enlightenment. I was bored.
I admit he has a great thing going for him: find a common phenomenon (succeeding under difficult circumstances, thinking, under-dogs) then write about "the science behind it" and drone on and on and on and on... We get it, Malcolm, sometimes underdogs are not actually underdogs just like David. And sometimes, people succeed who really shouldn't succeed after all whether its because they don't have any money or are a minority. Then there is The Tipping Point which I can't even begin to explain because I simply don't get it; I am at fault on this one. I know I am in the minority regarding my view of Gladwellian thinking so excuse me if this angers you.
Now, I should probably actually completely read one his books before I continue.
Just look at the guy.
It's hard to stay mad at a man that looks like this.
