Happy Six Months To Me

Today is the sixth month anniversary of Damn, What Should I Name My Blog? and other inquires of self-discovery!

I don't have much for you today. Right now, I am a beached whale in bed, sunburnt and exhausted from our ultimate tournament where we may not have won [a game] but that doesn't mean we didn't get dirty and have fun. Now, a few points of reflection on this momentous day:
  1. Thanks to those of you who religiously follow my blog. You know who you are. It means the world to me that you not only read it, but you email me responses about it or discuss it with me in person.
  2. Thanks to those who read my blog when I tell them to. While I would love it if you didn't need my pestering, err guidance, I thank you for reading and responding.
  3. Thanks to those who think the name is funny and chuckle when I say it. A person (who will not remain unnamed) once told me it was dumb. Because that's an appropriate and caring thing to tell someone. I haven't forgiven you, Dan. But since you also told me you think blogs are dumb (even though your dad is a journalist who blogs for a living) there's no chance you'll ever read this. I win.
  4. Thank you to those who have been the subject of my criticism. I know that it hurts when such a prominent blogger like me hits you at the knees and cuts down your argument, so thanks for being a good sport Rachel Schuman, NPR, NYT, Malcolm Gladwell, almond brittle, Slate, Jonathan Safran Foer, and my first subject, Brad Paisley.
