I was talking with someone from the Cities about the restaurants we ate at last weekend and Bar La Grassa came up. This was the restaurant with the almond brittle with fennel and chili candy. After I mentioned how it was pretty mediocre and overly salty she said it was one of her favorite places. I don't really know this girl that well so that was a tad awkward. I thought I could win her over with laughs and agreement on the Almond Brittle. Not so much. After I read a line from my last post about how horrible they were and mentioned that 3/4 of us spit them out, she mentioned that she loves them! She thinks they are a perfect end to the meal. 0 for 2.
The takeaway? 1) People like fennel with almonds. 2) I need to use my filter more often.
