I'm Back (Sort Of)

It has been awhile since I last posted and I apologize for that. I really do.
You'll have to give me the liberty of writing a relatively light post not only to ease my way back into posting but also because yesterday and today I read 167 pages of the TaNak. What is that, my Christian following might ask? Well, it's the Hebrew Bible. Oh, so it's the Old Testament, they might respond. Well, no, qualifying it as old would imply there is a newer one when, in fact, it's the only one. Oh. Awkward.
I would like to thank my strong and loyal Malaysian following for sticking with me throughout the last few months of writing. You guys amount to a lot of my readership so, terima kasih, my friends.
I also want to keep you updated on the journey of reading that I embarked upon during my six week break. My goals were sadly not met. I did not read Sophie's Choice, Henrietta Lacks, Matterhorn, or Cold Mountain. But do not be saddened! I read in addition to the two that I posted about earlier, One Bullet Away and Men We Reaped. In regard to the first, I know, I know, I really like books that center around the war and the military. I invite you to give me recommendations in that subject. As for the second book, it covers the violent deaths of five young black men close to the author. Obviously heartbreaking, but puts a lens on the reality of the lives of poor black people living in the South. The author, Jesmyn Ward, writes beautifully about these young men and about her own coping.
That's all for now, folks. Don't fret; I promise to continue ripping apart terribly written news articles soon!
